Russia, the 8th largest economy in the world is one of the countries hardest hit by the drop in oil prices. This year the Russian ruble has fallen 50 percent against the US dollar. As globally connected as we are, Russia is not isolated. Soon the world will feel the pinch if the price of oil falls even further and the Russian economy contracts.
